Amanda Fontana is currently serving her first term on the New Philadelphia City School’s Board of Education. Amanda is an Independent Provider through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. She attended Stark State College where she obtained her Associate of Applied Science degree in Human and Social Services with a career enhancement certificate in American Sign Language, The University of Akron earning her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with the Highest Distinction, and she will graduate in May 2024 from Cleveland State University with her Masters of Social Work. Amanda is also a Graduate Student Intern at Stark State College in their Human and Social Service department. Amanda has experience serving on many local and state Committees and Boards, including Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities Human Rights Committee, Stark State College Social Sciences Department Advisory Board, Board of Directors (Secretary), Tuscarawas County Friends of the Homeless and Pathway to Wellness, Speaker for Ohio’s Congenital Cytomegalovirus Legislative Team, Alco Services LLC. For the Sake of Kids (Provider of respite care services for individuals with developmental/behavioral disabilities), Policy Council Representative for Harcatus Head Start, New Philadelphia Harcatus Head Start Learning Center Parent Committee (President 2017-18), PHI ALPHA Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, PHI THETA KAPPA Honor Society, PSI BETA Honor Society.
