Posted On: Tuesday, October 6, 2015 There is always something exciting going on at West Elementary! Whether it is a fun and engaging lesson in a classroom, a fun day at recess, or a special event or good behavior activity.
West Elementary has over 300 students in grades Pre K-5. At West we have two classroom teachers for each grade, two intervention specialists, and four title teachers. We also have teachers we share with other buildings such as speech pathologists, a gifted teacher, specials teachers and librarian. Our other important staff includes Mrs. Martini as secretary, Mr. Daley as custodian, Mrs. Cannon in our cafeteria.
The children at West are leaders and practice the 7 Habits as they learn and grow. The students set goals in reading and behavior that they work to meet. Right now we are working to climb Mt Everest with our reading steps. Students who meet their behavior goals also are eligible to participate in the multiple good behavior events that go on at West. Some examples of past good behavior events include ice cream treats, movies, and special assemblies.
People always ask what makes your school special and I always say how caring everyone is each day. When I walk into West Elementary, I know that each kid is being treated in a caring way by their teacher and other staff members.
Come visit anytime!
