Back to School Forms are Online!
No more duplicating back-to-school forms….

New Philadelphia Schools have replaced many of our duplicate paper forms with digital forms. These electronic forms, accessed through the district homepage at www.npschools.org, are designed to help simplify the process for our families and will ensure all appropriate staff members have accurate student information. OneView will save you time and improve efficiencies. In future years, families will be able to simply log into the Parent Portal to revise and correct student information from the previous year, without starting the process over each time.

MEASURING WHAT MATTERS TO YOU!
The New Philadelphia City School District is releasing a “Quality Profile,” a comprehensive, community-oriented companion to the state’s Local Report Card. The "Quality Profile" is intended to showcase additional measures that families and community members of New Philadelphia value in their school system, but are not part of the Ohio Department of Education's report cards. The Quality Profile is not intended to compete with the state report cards.

Summer Science Camp
Who: Science camp will be taught by New Philadelphia High School science teachers: Scott Houmard, Jody Brady, and Kip Brady. Combined they have 59 years of teaching experience. They have a background in physical and biological sciences. Other teachers and speakers may participate on a day-to-day basis.

What:
An exciting experience for students entering grades 2-8. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in many activities that foster inquiry and scientific thought processes. They will be challenged throughout the week with puzzles, labs, and other hands-on activities. We will have a day at Norma Johnson Conservation Center again this year. Past campers will still find some of their old favorite activities.

Pre-Participation Physicals
The New Philadelphia Athletic Department will be offering physicals for any Middle School or High School student interested in playing any sport (including Cheerleading and QT's) for the upcoming 2016-17 School Year.
Saluting Quaker Foundation Educators of the Year!
South Elementary School first-grade teacher Julie Watson recently was selected as the winner of the Quaker Foundation’s 2016 Dr. William J. and Mae Hurst Jackson Award for Distinguished Teaching.

Ms. Watson, who has taught in New Philadelphia City Schools for 13 years, will be recognized at the Quaker Foundation Awards Banquet on May 6. Finalists included South Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Susan Riesen and New Philadelphia High School biology and chemistry teacher Jody Brady. Riesen has taught in the district for six years, and Brady has taught in the district for 18 years.

The award is funded by Bruce Jackson, of Mansfield; Norman Jackson, of Youngstown; and Marjorie Jackson Rasche of Galveston, Texas. A $6,000 cash award will be given to Watson, and a $1,500 award will be given to each runner-up.
