Modified In-Person Schedule
All students will attend the New Philadelphia City Schools on a modified schedule with restrictions.
Safety Precautions Include
6' Spacing Required at All Times
If grade level cannot accommodate 6' spacing, then that entire grade level goes to a modified in-person schedule. (M/TH or T/F - Non-in-person days are remote learning days)
It is possible that one building or grade level or more are 100% in-person 5 days per week, while other grade levels will need to be a modified schedule (Remote/In-Person)
Students in a Level 3 Special Education class will attend in-person at least 4 days per week
Busing continues its regular schedule with masks/facial coverings required for all riders in 4th-12th grades
IEP teams will create remote learning plans for each student with a disability
All staff required to wear a mask/facial covering per policy.
Mask/facial coverings are required for students in 4th-12th grades, unless one of the exceptions listed in Policy EBEA is met
K-12 will follow a 1:1 ratio for student-to-devices (Chromebooks)
Enhanced & more robust cleaning, disinfecting, & PPE will be implemented in accordance with guidelines
We are prepared with the ability to adapt Plan B, while still having all students learn in-person at school for some portion of the week. (e.g. Have teachers change classes instead of students, Lunch in the classroom, Requiring masks in hallways)
Example Modified In-Person Schedule
During any remote learning day, students are expected to complete the lessons and assignments as indicated by the teacher. The lessons will be posted by 8:00 am on the scheduled day. Assignments will be due by 8:00 am the following school day unless otherwise indicated by the teacher. To be considered present for a remote learning day, students need to log-into their accounts, participate in the lesson, and complete the assignments. Daily time expectations for remote learning is between 5 and 5.5 hours. Failure to complete lessons and assignments during remote learning will have the same consequences as during in-person learning. Grading practices are the same as traditional in-person schooling (Plan A).
Adjust & Adapt
As a reminder, plans are “at this moment”, and we will continue to re-evaluate based on evolving conditions, data about the status of the pandemic, and recommendations and guidance from public health authorities and the scientific community.
