Kelly Ricklic
Kelly Ricklic, retired former water superintendent for the City of New Philadelphia, is currently serving his first term on the New Philadelphia City Schools' Board of Education. In the past, he was a buildings and grounds supervisor with the New Philadelphia City Schools; a former maintenance supervisor at Buckeye Career Center; a school representative for the Rocket Center, Conotton Valley Local School District, and a former councilman-at-large for the City of New Philadelphia from 2016-2023. Mr. Ricklic is the current Turf Tuscora Diamond co-chair, a Polar Express volunteer, and a Nepsa Ride for Pride volunteer.
Kelly resides in New Philadelphia with his wife Sharon (Exley) a 1978 NPHS graduate. They have been married for 47 years and have raised three adult children: Gretchen Ricklic (Frank) Polen, a 1995 NPHS graduate; Amanda Ricklic, a 1998 NPHS graduate, and Ryan (Megan McCullagh) Ricklic, a 2001 NPHS graduate. They have seven grandchildren: Bret (2016 NPHS graduate), Layne (2018 NPHS graduate), Kendall, Caleb (NPHS class of 2027), Reese, Anna, and William. Kelly enjoys spending time with family, cooking, building projects, and youth baseball.
When Mr. Ricklic was asked what he would consider his goal for the Board of Education, he responded, "One of my goals as a Board of Education member is to continue building community support. Input is needed from our residents as the Board addresses the district's aging facilities and infrastructure. Together, we can evaluate an affordable solution."
