Greetings From South Elementary

Welcome From the Principal

At South Elementary the staff, students and parents exemplify a strong commitment toward excellence in education.  South Elementary utilizes a PTO organization and a strong core of parent volunteers to allow students to engage in highly motivating educational experiences.  Events rewarding students for their efforts using our character education traits are utilized at South Elementary. Fun events that promote school spirit are organized by the leadership, PTO group, and the teachers at the school.

Community members and other stakeholders in our school community provide differing talents to make the educational lessons rich and diverse at South Elementary.  Special visits from community representatives promote and enhance student learning experiences.  Students at South are community minded citizens.  The students have participated in Share a Christmas, Relay for Life, and engage in a recycling program that is building wide.  These students care about our community.

Teachers at South use their creativity to show-case student talents. Many events through-out the school year are organized and designed by the teachers. An awards program is part of the school culture. Students are acknowledged for their accomplishments per nine weeks.  Students are recognized for their work on classroom goals, school attendance, Accelerated Reading and other learning goals set forth by the teachers. At South Elementary we strive to create a successful learning environment and have the support of a caring community focused on the learning of our students.
