York Elementary PTO Purpose:
The purpose of this organization are:
* to encourage the welfare of children in the
home, school and community;
* to encourage a positive relationship between
home and school by promoting the cooperation of
parents and teachers;
* to further enrich the children's educational
experiences and to raise funds necessary to
benefit school, students, faculty,
and staff of York Elementary.
*Finger Printing MUST be done and approved BEFORE you can volunteer in the school.
The New Philadelphia City School District requires that all volunteers complete a background check through the BCI & FBI Record and be approved by our Board of Education. If you have had a background check completed and it is on file at the school, it is good for 5 years as long as you maintain continuous service to the New Philadelphia City School District. If you have not had a BCI & FBI background check, here are some important details regarding the process:
*The cost of the Ohio BCI & I fingerprinting at the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ESC), is $32.00.
*A Volunteer will only need to complete an FBI background check if they have lived out of the state of Ohio in the past 5 years. The cost of the FBI check is an additional $34.00.
*At this time, the reimbursement for fingerprinting of volunteers is still at $10.00 with receipt.
