Welty Middle School

2019-2020

First Day of School

Students first day of school is Thursday, August 22nd. The doors will open at 7:30am. Doors for breakfast will open at 7:30. Dismissal is at 2:44pm.

Lockers

All middle school students will receive their locker assignment from their homeroom teacher on the first day of school. Students will not be permitted to come in early to get their locker assignment.

Locks

• 8th grade students - 8th graders will use their lock from last school year and bring it with them on the first day of school.

• Replacement locks cost $5.00 and can be purchased in the middle school office.

• 7th grade students - 7th graders will use their lock from last school year and bring it with them on the first day of school.

• Replacement locks cost $5.00 and can be purchased in the middle school office.

• 6th grade students - Every 6th grade student will receive a new lock from the school.

• On August 15th, 6th grade students may come to school between 7:30am - 2:30pm to receive their new lock to take home and practice before the first day of school. In order to receive their lock on the 15th, the online Parent Portal must be completed. Computers will be available outside the office if you need to complete the Portal.

6th Grade Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00pm in the Welty Auditorium. It will last approximately 45 minutes. We will discuss important information about the upcoming school year. You are encouraged to bring your child’s schedule as there will be time after the meeting to find their class locations and speak briefly with their teachers. Locks and locker assignments will not be given out at orientation.

7th Grade Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 11th at 6:00pm at Welty. The night will begin in the auditorium with myself, Mr. Range, assistant principal Ms. Reed, and school counselor Mrs. Ames. for approximately 30 minutes. Then, you will follow your child’s schedule and travel to each one of their classes for approximately 10-15 minutes. At each class you will hear important information from the teacher regarding the course and are able to ask questions.

8th Grade Open House will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 6:00pm at Welty. The evening will begin in the auditorium with myself, Mr. Range, assistant principal Ms. Reed, and school counselor Mrs. Ames. Then, you will follow your child’s schedule and travel to each one of their classes for approximately 10-15 minutes. At each class you will hear important information from the teacher regarding the course and are able to ask questions.
