A large gathering of students was treated to a special assembly in honor of their work with the school’s TARGET positive behavior rewards program. Ventriloquist Mark Wade visited the school Wednesday afternoon to present his “Power of Respect Show.” Throughout the course of the assembly, Wade used a variety of characters and voices to help bring to life the concept of respect. The New Philadelphia City Schools have implemented a Character Education Program across the district with a special emphasis on the core value of respect.
Principal John Zucal had this to share about the assembly, “Mark Wade was an excellent choice to have as the featured guest for our TARGET assembly. We wanted to reward the students for their outstanding efforts in the classroom while at the same time building on our district’s commitment to character development and living our core values and mission. I am confident the students had a great time!”
Third grade student Adam Exley shared this thought, “Mr. Wade was really funny!"
Mr. Wade's visit was sponsored by the Central PTO. Our thanks are extended to this great group of parents for all their support!!
