Get Involved at Central

Students of all ages at Central Elementary School are provided a variety of opportunities to become involved in the life of our school and local community.
Some of the many activities include the following:

  • Youth Sports through the city of New Philadelphia and various community organizations.  Students may also elect to participate in one of the summer sports camps operated by our varsity coaches.
  • Science Camp:  Want to learn more about science?  Well, a great way is to attend the New Philadelphia City Schools Science Camp.  This great learning experience is coordinated and operated by members of the high school science faculty.
  • Recorder Choir:  Fifth grade students are provided the opportunity to participate in the school's Recorder Choir.  Mrs. Cheryl Graham, elementary music teacher, coordinates this wonderful group.
  • SAILS Team:  Our Student Activity and Involvement Leaders at Central learn all about leadership and get to put those skills into action by participating in a variety of school and community service projects.  Students must receive a nomination from a faculty member in order to be part of this elite group.
  • Recycling Club:  The Recycling Club puts the three Rs of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to work at Central by making sure we do our best to protect and preserve our world!
  • Drama:  Students of all ages get to put their musical and dramatic talents to good use by participating in school sponsored plays and musicals.
  • Young Authors Program:  Fifth grade students are provided the opportunity to put those writing skills to good use by sharing in the annual Young Authors Day program.  Teacher nominations are used to select our very best authors!

The Central SAILS Team learns about leadership.
