The New Philadelphia City School District has a strong educational tradition dating back to 1772, when Ohio's first school house was constructed in New Philadelphia.  A replica of this structure is located in Schoenbrunn Village located in New Philadelphia. Only 25 miles south of Canton, Ohio, New Philadelphia is a community of approximately 16,000 residents.
